This paper describes the design of a helical dipole antenna for microwave ablation (MWA) based on substrate integrated coaxial line (SICL) technology. The dipole arm extending from the outer conductor is nine quarters of the wavelength, and it rotates around the other dipole arm extending from the inner conductor, the length of the dipole arm extending from the inner conductor is one quarter of the wavelength. The center frequency of this antenna is 2.45 GHz, and the shape of localized heating patterns is like a spherical which is the shape of many tumors. Measurement results showed good agreement with the simulations.
