Ethical Implications of RFID and Internet of Things seen from a Christian Perspective

Radio-frequency identification and other technologies for the Internet of Things are suspected that they can be used to spy people and therewith infringe their privacy. This rises ethical questions, if and how these technologies may be used, or if they should be forbidden or at least limited in their use. This paper provides an approach from a Christian point of view considering mainly theological aspects and comes to conclusions how to use these technologies and how to prevent infringements of privacy rights. It is based on a study conducted at the University of South Africa in the discipline Theological Ethics.
