Push-off shear tests are commonly used to examine and develop theories for the shear friction resistance of reinforced concrete. In the present paper reliable 3D finite element models of unreinforced push-off specimens strengthened with external steel-reinforced polymer (SRP) strips are developed using the computer software ATENA 3D® (Advanced Tools for Engineering Nonlinear Analysis). The models are analyzed under the effects of monotonic axial load up to failure. The models and their analyses are verified by comparison with experimental results. The models are then used in a parametric study to investigate the effects of parameters such as the SRP wrapping scheme, the SRP reinforcement ratio, and the concrete compressive strength.
