摘要

A Medium Voltage DC (MVDC) bi-directional power supply with a 5 MW, 24 kV capability has been installed at the Center for Advanced Power Systems (CAPS) at Florida State University. CAPS operates a MW-scale Power Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHIL) advanced test facility. The prior integration of the facility equipment with a Real-Time Digital Simulator allows novel simulation and test procedures. The simulator provides instantaneous voltage or current references to the physical MVDC converter, while receiving the appropriate feedback in real time for PHIL simulation. This setup allows MW-class DC equipment to connect to an experimental facility bus which can have realistic characteristics.
