The direct shear test is designed to study the strength parameters of the soil within the freezethaw interface, utilizing the lower freezing point of saline water. The strength parameters of the frcczethaw interface are tested under different cycle times of freezing-thawing and a variety of water ratio. The results show that the strength of the soil is lowered than normal due to the existing of freeze-thaw interface. And the strength of freeze-thaw interface decrease with the increase of water ratio. What's more, the cohesion and the internal friction angle reduce with the accumulation of freezing.thawing circle, especially at the beginning.
