Seasonal drought and soil erosion happens alternately in red soil slope land, which severely restricts the full productivity of it This project took down-slope tillage as a control and slope farmland with different soil reservoir construction measures as subjects, discussed their different kinds of capacities in soil reservoir and capacity composition, in order to study the mechanism of water-retaining and regulating capability of soil reservoir under different construction measures. The results showed that the total soil reservoir storage of terrace Ⅰ, terrace Ⅱ, pit Ⅰ, pit Ⅱ, pin hole Ⅰand pin hole Ⅱ were 9.02%, 8.76%, 0.81%, 11.02%, 3.51% and 4.33% higher than the control respectively, effective capacity were 1.22,1.08,0.97,1.10, 1.12 and 1.09 times of the control separately, and dead storage capacity were 18.80%, 5.45%, 1239%, 431%, 15.80% and 18.43% smaller than the control respectively, Pervious capacities were 33.94%, 73.23%, 79.54%, 81.94%, 25.29% and 67.99% larger than the control respectively. The composition of different types of soil reservoir capacities all showed that effective capacity>dead storage> pervious capacity.
