The concentration of bioaerosol emitted from the swine manure composting was studied in the lab-scale and field-scale by applying natural derived agents for conditioning the compost pile. For the lab-scale application, the effect of the reduction in airborne bacteria generation was significant during 1 to 5 hr of exposure time by applying phytoncide, herb oil, enzyme additive and EM. For the filed-scale application, the effects of agents on the generation reduction were observed for both bacteria and fungi when herb oil was effective in reducing the generation concentration of bacteria and fungi from the composting pile.
