The subject of analysis of research in this study is to investigate the possibility of different formal, technological, functional, aesthetic and energy resources in the design elements and urban elements for protecting people from extreme natural and manmade influences. In this paper are investigated the impacts of different zones within the comfort for people in different climatic environments. The projected elements are treated as a part of the overall optimization of architectural elements and urban space within which technological development allows the use of certain energy potential locations.The possibilities of creating integrative system, parts of the object's structure as well as systems that allow easy breakdown for re-use and recyclingare investigated through analysis of different concepts . The paper presents the hypothetical models of photovoltaic modules application in designing urban elements and elements for people's protection and they represent a specific design innovations in terms of application of different materials and systems. These elements contribute in improving the specificity of the character of the place where they are located, using solar energy as a renewable energy source. The analytical procedure was applied in the analysis of student works in seminar on the first year of master studies at the Faculty of Architecture. Aim is to improve students' awareness about need for careful handling of energy and potential energy analysis and design of architectural elements. The result research has enabled further work on sustainable development of small urban elements with a focus on the use of solar energy by promoting modern minimalist design approach.
