Industrial Solar Heat is the most economical renewable energy and the one consuming the less surface of ground. To be successful, this energy must be competitive with fossil energy, and performances must be guaranteed by one company only. SAED, a technological company established in 2008 in Sophia Antipolis (France), has identified two "technological barriers" to succeed in this huge market: being able to install a large capacity (several MW) with a simple hydraulic lay out and very low pressure drop & killing the costs (in €/kWh.year, i.e. the amount of euro you have to pay to produce one kWh of thermal energy per year) SAED has developed such a technology, to supply solar heat for industrial application (80°C-130°C) with a large scale system (0,5 to 50MWthermal) at a competitive price compared to fossil fuel. To achieve this target, SAED has worked on the business model, on the supply chain and on the technology. This solar field is with no moving parts, no mirrors, simple flow-through arrays, and straightforward scalability.
