Durrat Al Bahrain is a luxury seaside city resort, located on the south coast of Bahrain, it will include 13 different islands with over 2,000 villas, more than 3.000 apartments, luxury hotels and restaurants. The 13 islands are joined together by 13 architectural bridges with a total length of approximately 3.5km. The bridges were originally conceived to be built using stainless steel reinforcement. Very high construction costs led the consultant to explore other techniques for increasing the durability of the bridges and Cathodic Protection was considered. One of the main disadvantages was the owners' reluctance to take on the high perceived maintenance activities associated with CP on such large structures. This paper will discuss, 1. The cost comparisons that led to Cathodic Protection being selected as the means to extend the design life of these bridges. 2. The design, installation and commissioning of the CP systems. 3. How maintenance worries were overcome by the installation of a state of the art power and monitoring system. This system is capable of monitoring all of the bridges from 1 location, automatically adjusting the CP systems, and accessing the systems from anywhere with an internet connection.

CP系统的设计,安装和调试。 3.通过安装艺术电力和监测系统的状态来克服维护担忧。该系统能够从1个位置监控所有桥接器,自动调整CP系统,并使用Internet连接的任何位置访问系统。
