Effects of Ca element on microstructure and mechanicalproperties of ZA62 alloys were investigated by using zeissmicroscope, scanning electron microscope equipped with anenergy dispersive spectrometer, X-ray diffractometer, andelectronic universal testing machine. The results show that Ca cansignificantly refine microstructure and cause the precipitation ofMg_2Ca and Al_2Ca phases on grain boundary of ZA62 alloys. Theaddition of Ca can improve the tensile properties of alloys at roomtemperature. When the content of Ca is 2%, good properties areobtained, the tensile strength and yield strength ofMg-6Zn-2Al-2Ca alloy reaches 240.79MPa and 82.78MParespectively.
