Planning a construction-site layout is essential to any project and has a significant impact on its economy, efficiency, safety, and productivity. Properly locating the temporary facilities is the key for planning any construction site. Due to uncertainties throughout the project life, the project must be divided into shorter time periods to have separate site layouts. This paper introduces a model which will help the planners optimize the location of temporary facilities in congested sites. This integrated model is developed using Microsoft Access, Visual Basic for Application (VBA) and AutoCAD software. The genetic algorithm (GA) is used as an optimization technique and is implemented through VBA files in Microsoft Access.
