摘要

The combination of casting and high resolution micro-CT scanning with image processing provides unique data of the human hepatic circulation starting from the macrocirculation down to the microcirculation. It allows to digitally visualize the complex liver vasculature and to obtain high resolution data for quantitative morphological analysis as well as to use a multiscale modeling approach to construct digital models for the human liver circulation. These 3D geometries will be used to create computational fluid dynamics models to simulate the microcirculation through the 3D scaffold-like structures of the sinusoidal network.
