Methane emission measurement is important in evaluation of green house gas emission from waste land. Most of measurement of methane at waste land is frequently performed by using chamber method, static and dynamic chamber methods. Also the waste land usually should be well managed so that the methane emission should be emitted with good homogeneous condition at the surface of waste land area. However the condition of waste dumping sites of Korea is located mostly at valley area and wastes is dumped with multilayer. These lead to uneven and irregular emissions of methane at different location of wasteland surface. Therefore screening method was developed to measure the waste land area before measuring methane using chamber method(Fig. 1). After screening emission level of waste land area, chamber measurement was used for homogeneous emission area. High emission areas are measured separately to improve methane measurement accuracy of the waste lands.
