The hourly variation of ambient bioaerosol concentrations in Hsinchu city in Taiwan

There are various kinds of bioaerosols in ambient air, including microorganisms, fragments of microorganisms, and metabolites from organisms. In addition to expose through outdoor activities, human may expose to ambient bioaerosols that penetrate into indoor environments through opened windows and gaps of buildings. Ambient environmental factors such as the meteorological factors, human activities, surrounding vegetations, air pollutants will cause the constantly changing of bioaerosol concentrations. Many studies associated with ambient bioaerosols in Taiwan were performed by single and temporary sampling of bioaerosols which may not identify the short-term variations. Therefore, this study has the aims of determining the short-term variations of ambient bioaerosol concentrations by hourly sampling. The relationships between ambient bioaerosols and meteorological factors, and hourly concentrations of major air pollutants were also investigated.
