摘要

In recent years polymer/layered silicate nanocomposites have attracted great interest in academic and industrial researches because of exhibition of remarkable improvements in materials properties when compared with virgin polymers or conventional micro and macro composites. These improvements can include high moduli, increased strength and heat resistance, decreased permeability and flammability.and lots of other properties of polymers and conventional composites. The commonly used layered silicates for the preparation of clay/polymer nanocomposites belong to the same general family of 2:1 layered or phyllosilicates. Montmorillonite (MMT), hectorite and saponite are the most commonly used layered silicates in preparation of nanocomposites because of their high compatibility with organic monomers and polymers.
