The brief history of CriMiCo: (A commemorative essay dedicated to the 20^th anniversary of the first convocation of the above conference)

An outline of events and milestones is presented describing the history of the International Conference on «Microwave Engineering and Telecommunication Technologies» (CriMiCo). The primary gathering of this forum is dated on 1991. The location where it was convened is the world-famous city of Sevastopol (the Crimea, Ukraine). Below are listed the activities of the conference over a span of the first decade, the evolution of the Conference chapter formats in the second decade, the specific facets of seminars, workshops and panel groups. In addition, a special emphasis is placed upon the framework in which the conference initiatives had been undertaken, upon the distinctive features of the specific work the relevant committees were involved in. Mention is to be made of the conference awards and bonuses granted to merited participants. Eventually, another no less important event took place when the president of the NASU academician Boris Paton and the Ministry of Education and Science professor Dmytro Ta-bachnik had welcomed this representative gathering. That was a sheer evidence of its recognition as a major advance in developing science and engineering. In the appendices that follow a good deal of space is given to some significant statistical facts. There had been an impressive series of paper submissions from 772 universities and enterprises at 20 conferences. References are made to the countries that got involved in this grand forum, to the well-known research centers as well as to the activity of young scientists and experts. Besides, the reader is sure to find some brief information on 86 members of the Organizing and Program Committees that were actively engaged in sponsoring and conducting this conference.
