Biological Basis Microclimate Effects of Intercropping in Jujube Orchard

To improve the ecological environmental benefit and production potentiality, a study was conducted through an observation over the biological basis of jujube and intercrops and a contrast (comparative) test between intercropping in jujube orchard and sole cropping of the intercrops. The result shows that jujube and intercrops are different in phenological phases, and their critical periods in needing for water, fertilizer and illumination are interlaced. Meanwhile, there is significant difference (p<0.05) in the variation of agricultural microclimate environment in jujube orchard compared with that in controlled farmland. The decrease scales of air temperature range from 0.2°C to 0.7°C, the decrease scales of earth surface temperature range from 2.1 °C to 2.5°C, the increase scales of relative air humidity range from 3.7% to 6.8%, and the reduction scales of wind speed range from 0.2m/s to 0.4m/s.
