An Improved Median Filtering Algorithm Based on Edge Protection

In order to remove impulse noise in an image and protect the edge information effectively at the same time, this article proposed a noise detection and noise reduction method based on edge protection. In this paper.on the basis of full analysis of nosie and edge distribution characteristics.it detects the suspicious noise point of the image in multiple directions , it also can detect the noise and the edge effectively.At the same time it adopts nonlinearity multistage directional median filtering technology based on the conventional median filtering algorithm.This technique can effectively reduce the noise of the image and preserv the image details.
