Study of a four-step Fast-charging Method in Lead-acid Battery

摘要

A four-step fast-charging method was proposed in lead-aced batten for use of electric vehicle. The optimized fast-charging process could be controlled by the initial charging current, amplitude and frequency of positive and negative pulses as well as duration between positive and negative pulses based on the consideration of intrinsic electric properties of battery material itself. The charging experimental results showed that the optimized real charging process of a lead-acid battery agreed well with the proposed mechanism. In addition, the function of each charging step was discussed.
