Cellulose, chitin and hemp fibers are renewable and biodegradable; however, theyleave a large environmental footprint due to the hazardous solvents used during fiberspinning. Since ionic liquids have been reported possessing excellent performances ondissolving natural palmers, we dissolved cellulose, chitin and hemp in1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate (EMIM Ac) and gained regenerated fibers bywet spinning. The viscosities of natural polymers' solutions were tested and themicroscope, mechanical and FT-IR properties of regenerated fibers were analyzed.
