Empirical analysis on protection of landless peasants' rights and interests at period of accelerated urbanization

In national plan of twelfth five-year, orchestrating city-country development and accelerating process of urbanization will be one of the leading strategies. Large areas of farmland turn to non-agricultural irreversibly in the process of accelerating urbanization, the existing land expropriation system running by planned economic system damage farmers' rights and interests. Therefore, as vulnerable groups, landless peasants' protection of rights and interests need more concern. The study takes new district in south of one city for an example, empirically analyzes damage to landless peasants' rights and interests under the existing land expropriation system, and explores its formation mechanism, proposes appropriate measures of safeguard, in order to protect rights and interests of landless peasants effectively.
