Widely linear(WL) filters utilize not only the received signal but also its complex conjugate, is said to outperform L-MUD ones, while multicarrier code-division multiple-access is an effective technique for combating multipath fading for high data rates in wireless transmissions. A variable step size WL-LMS algorithm is proposed based on the blind adaptive constrained minimum output energy (MOE) algorithm proposed in [1] for the uplink multicarrier code-division multiple-access (MC-CDMA) system in a multicell environment. The LMS algorithm' step size is some difficult to select. Not only that, the adaptive rate of LMS algorithm is lower than other algorithm such as recursive least square (RLS) algorithm. By different step in convergence, the algorithm can provide large step at the head while a little step at the rear. The variable step size WL-LMS algorithm can afford better performance than WL-MOE filter for uplink MC-CDMA systems proposed in[1].
