摘要

Volcanic eruption, like earthquake, is a geological incident that occurs in our country-Indonesia any time. Geologists and volcanologists are the persons who predict accurately when a volcano may erupt and what impact it will have on the surrounding area. Volcanic surveillance, monitoring, and mitigation system in Indonesia are carried out by installing seismic censors in the field and then geologists and volcanologists analyze their seismic data. The existing problem is how to make a more accurate prediction about when a volcano erupts and how to make a more accurate prediction about its negative impact. In this case, seismic data alone is not enough to put into consideration. There are many geological factors and parameters that need to be considered whenever geologists and volcanologists want to predict more accurately. The data that can be collected through many different equipment's or devices need to be integrated and we can do it using Web Service technology. From geologists and volcanologists' view, they need a surveillance, monitoring, and mitigation system that is user-friendly and easy to understand and will be built by adopting many GIS (Geographical Information System) concepts.
