The character of poem is to discover the world from the viewpoint of aesthetics. When the poem is used as a design language. its character will be introduce into the design and the design process is translated into a process of seeking after poetic-images. constructing poetic-realm and designing follow the poetic-realm. Meanwhile, it will redound to reveal Chinese culture in the design because the poem is the typical feature and important expression way of Chinese culture. In designing the Huangxing commercial pedestrian Street in Changsha, the designer epurate instills poetry-images from local geography and culture, then integrates them into a poetry-realm, and design following it. In conclusion, the poem not only be a designing way, but more important, a way to represent the glamour of Chinese culture and a kind of interpretation to the common idea of the Orient and the Occident for Poetic Dwelling.
