How to Identify the Leading Industry in the Service Sector for Xiacheng District of Hangzhou: Based on BCG Matrix and Location Quotient

摘要

The growth of the service sector is a pivotal index to evaluate the economy of a region. With the development of economy and society, it is inevitable to discuss how to select a leading industry in the service sector appropriately, which is deserved to obtain support from the government. This paper focuses on the case of Xiacheng district in Hangzhou, analyzes the status quo of service sector, and discusses how to choose and support a leading industry in the service sector by using the BCG Matrix and the location quotient.
