The sources and dynamics of the Xiangxi River's nutrient

摘要

The input of nutrient of vegetations in riparian zone in Xiangxi River was few viewed. Here we aimed to ascertain the sources and dynamics of the Xiangxi River''s nutrient. Litter was collected by box(100 × 100 × 20 cm3) and the decomposition rate was measured. The content of nitrogen (TN), phosphorus (TP), and total organic carbon (TOC) in riparian zone soil were also analysed. The main results showed that: 1) The amount of input of litters is 604.57 g.m−2.y−1 and had a significant seasonal patter; 2) The leaf accounted for 81.9 % of litter; 3) The riparian zone average content of TOC was 16.66 g.kg−1; TN was 0.77 g.kg−1, TP was 2.92 g.Kg−1, all lower than those of natural soil. Conclusions: 1) leaf was the main component of litter in Xiangxi River riparian zone; 2) The main nutrient in riparian zone soil would release into the water.
