Long-distance standard single-mode fiber transmission of 40-Gbit/s 16QAM signal with optical delay-detection and digital pre-distortion of chromatic dispersion

Dispersion pre-distorted 40-Gbit/s 16QAM transmissions over 800-km standard-single mode fiber (∼13300 psm) using delay detection is demonstrated with large tolerance to laser phase noise (1- MHz linewidth DFB laser source) and pre-distortion error (±40-km SSMF).
