With methyl coupling dinonylphenol(MDN) and dimethyl carbonate (DMC) as raw materials, bis(O-Methyl-Nonylphenol) Methylene (BMNM) was prepared at 180°C with K_2CO_3 as catalystand Bu_4NBr as phase transfer catalyst, sulfonation with chlorosulfuric acid and neutralization with NaOH aqueous solution, final product bis(Sodium O-Methyl-Nonylphenol Sulfonate) Methylene (BSMNSM) was synthesized. In the reaction of etherification, the conversion of MDN is 99%; In the reaction of sulfonation, the sulfonation rate is about 166.1%. The structure of intermediate product was analyzed by 1H NMR and IR spectrometry. The final product was analyzed by IR spectrometry and mass spectrometry. It was a newer amphiphile, newer structure which can substituted traditional self-assembling components.
