摘要

The new CVD method of three classes of W-C coatings formation is presented in the report, namely WC, WC(1-x), W_2C, W_3C, W_12C phases and their mixtures with microhardness 27-42 GPa and maximal thickness 14-25 urn; multilayer W-C coatings with microhardness (15-25) GPa and thickness 20-30 urn and composite coatings with microhardness (11-20) GPa and thickness 50-100 urn. These coatings are promising for using in extreme-heavy abrasion, erosion and corrosion environments due to unique toughness, crack and impact-resistance. Pore-free W-C coatings are resistant to acids, hydrogen sulphide solution and other aggressive media. Application of W-C coatings raises life of tools and critical components and reduces down-time.
