This paper presents the opportunity to reduce energy costs in a water pumping station by analyzing selected energy suppliers' offers along with simulation of changes in the algorithm of pumps' operation . In search for the most advantageous economic solution the following energy tariffs were considered: tariffs with fixed price of energy during the day, multi-zone tariffs and Day and Night tariffs. For each considered case, pumps' control algorithm was changed to work as efficiently as possible in a chosen tariff. Water intake station model and conducted simulations were based on EPANET 2 software.
