TEAM_K: A NEW KERNEL FOR SOFT REAL TIME SIMULATIONS

Simulation of nuclear power plants is a mature technology that has evolved during the last decades. However, the huge complexity of the simulated systems and, therefore, the corresponding simulators means that the quick evolution of computer technology is not applied to this kind of simulator as quickly as in other fields of the industry. In this paper we present our experience in migrating a soft real-time simulator Kernel from Win32 and CORBA technologies to a service-oriented architecture using .NET 4 and WCF allowing the coexistence of new technologies with legacy models and applications.
