摘要

Recent analyses of data obtained from lightning locating systems (LLSs) suggest that the minimum estimated peak current in negative cloud-to-ground lightning strokes that create new ground terminations is about −2kA. This minimum is close to the detection threshold of the LLSs and is lower than what is usually considered when evaluating the performance of lightning protection systems.
