摘要

In this study, we have examined the influence of urbanization to air pollution over the Kanto area. Generally, the increase in ozone concentrations responds to land-use changes from urbanization. Simulation results indicate that land-use changes from urbanization can lead to increases in daily maximum ozone by 3 ppb, and averaged daytime concentrations by about 1~4 ppb around the eastern part of Tokyo Metropolis. The results of this study may be valuable for local policy maker for further development planning. However, more detailed studies should involve the examination of chemical and physical processes which lead to increase the concentrations of ozone due to urbanization in the future.
