SPECIE - TREATMENT - ADHESIVE COMBINATIONS USING BRAZILIAN REFORESTATIONS SPECIES FOR GLULAM PURPOSE.

The Glued Laminated Timber (Glulam) is an engineered wood product that requires precision manufacturing in all its stages. The finished product can only be tested in laboratory conditions; however, you must have quality control in production to ensure that the properties of the Glulem are appropriate to the resistance specified for the material according to the standards. This paper aims with the special focus on Brazilian species-treatment-adhesive combinations using two hardwood; Lyptus and Eucalyptus grandis. For this purpose the average humidity of the layers before and after treatment with preservative CCA and CCB, was 12%. The adhesive used were the bi-component adhesive based on isocyanate Wonderbond EPI ~® EL-70 together with the hardener Wonderbond ~® EPI WAS 742 in the proportion of 100 parts / weight of the adhesive and 20 parts / weight of the hardener. Testes were made with treated and no treated lumber in order to evaluate the effect of treatment in the adhesive type. The results showed a good performance of these species for use in Glulam in Brazil.
