Inherently Safer (IS) concepts have received increasing attention by Congress, nongovernmentalorganizations and other public entities in the post-9/11 era. ACC and its member companies believethat IS is one of a number of valuable risk reduction tools within an overall risk managementframework. This paper outlines the ACC position.
