This paper presented an AC electronic load composed of an ac to dc PWM voltage source converter and provided a new control in closed loop , based on hysteresis current control. The hysteresis control can uses a symmetrical or an asymmetrical hysteresis band, in this paper, implementing of random band hysteresis band permits a good control for output current. This control is much less sensitive to parameter and control signal changes than the existing delta modulation technique and can reduce the output current harmonic distortion. For the single phase converter, simulation and experimental results have been provided. The proposed method is expected to be applicable for three phase converters also.
