A decrease the noise in a high-power TWT X, Ku-band is considered due to the use of a magnetic field at the cathode obtained with an annular gap in the steel screen. It is shown that such a method allows to significantly reduce the integral level of own noise. Calculations of the TWT switch-on / turn-off modes by lowering the potential on the focusing electrode relative to the cathode showed that the maximum settling of the electron beam occurs under the first magnet of the MPFS, which is adopted by a specially selected collimator.
