Coordinating multi-microgrid operation within distribution system: A cooperative game approach

This paper proposes a coalitional operation model for multi-microgrid within the distribution system to achieve higher operation economy. Motivated by the cooperative game theory, a number of individual microgrids are treated as one grand coalition, and is scheduled via a centralized economic dispatch approach with the aim of minimizing global cost. Furthermore, given the independence and autonomy of local microgrid operators, the total operation cost is fairly allocated among microgrid operators based on the concept of core solution to the cooperative game. Case studies with a multi-microgrid system demonstrate the economic efficiency of microgrid cooperation, as well as the computational efficiency of the proposed cost allocation method.
