摘要

The mission of the Oregon Nanoscience and Microtechnologies Institute (ONAMI) is to enhance Oregon's competitive advantage in securing research dollars and to springboard the creation of clean- and high-tech jobs in Oregon. In this paper we will discuss ONAMI's alignment with state development objectives and how that progress is measured and reported. We will also discuss ONAMI's role in facilitating collaboration among Oregon's research universities-Portland State University (PSU), Oregon State University (OSU), University of Oregon (UO), and Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU)) and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL)-as well as two critical components of ONAMI's collaborative research model, the High Tech Extension (HTE) and Commercialization Gap Fund (CGF) programs and, more specifically, how they are funded and managed and how their success is measured and reported.
