The purpose of this study was to quantify anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) elongations by a biomechanical simulation model, which includes a marker based biomechanical model and a musculo-skeletal model. Kinematic data collected by a motion capture system was used as the input to the simulation model. The simulation results from a jump landing task were analyzed and compared with previous findings. Potential application of this model to rehabilitation and injury prevention was also discussed.
