Accurate sub-entire-domain (ASED) and simplified sub-entire-domain (SSED) basis function methods are introduced and compared in this paper for radar cross section (RCS) computation of large-scale periodic structures. The detailed algorithms are presented and the number of unknowns, CPU time and precision of the two methods are discussed respectively. Numerical results are given to show the differences of the two methods, so that a flexible choice can be acquired for further researches and wider applications of SED method.
