Optimization and comparison of the transmission performance of RSOA/SOA intensity-modulated optical OFDM signals for WDM-PONs

For optical OFDM IMDD systems, optimum operating conditions of RSOA/SOA intensity modulators are identified, under which similar performances are obtained for different modulators. Under low-cost component-enabled conditions, RSOA modulators with high rear-facet reflectivity are preferred.
