Reconstruction has set the foundation for the comeback ofshops through maintaining location and ownership. Shop-owners’contribution involved: the establishment of the “Kusawake-kai”to encourage the shops return; proposals in planning deliberationmeetings; and comeback of the shops and their continuity topresent day. The case of Hondori’s reconstruction emphasizes theimportance of involving the original stakeholders duringreconstruction in order to stimulate the revival of war-torn areas.Acknowledgements.
