The paper will present a method for solving the internal fluid dynamics and how the corresponding loads are transferred to a FEM analysis of the vessel. We will show that by properly accounting for the internal fluid dynamics you can get a very good load balance for the loads transferred from the hydrodynamic analysis to the FEM analysis. The importance of the fluid dynamics in both partially filled and full compartments is illustrated by comparing the results computed in this way with the loads computed based on a previous "quasi-static" method. The results shown will be both the loads provided by the hydrodynamics solver and the resulting structural response. We will also show how such an analysis flow with Modelling - Hydrodynamics - Structural analysis - post processing can be seamlessly carried out using the Sesam Manager.
