Linearity and Dynamism of 'Yokohama Osanbashi' and 'Russian Ark' A Comparative Analysis of Architecture and Film from a Semiotic Viewpoint Part 1

摘要

In this paper we compare an architectural object and a film, hoping to demonstrate that even though their initial inceptions and conceptions were completely independent and unrelated, it is possible to extract elements of conceptual, formal, and semiotic similarity; thus hypothesizing that since it is possible for these elements to meet incidentally, it is more than possible then to voluntarily engender such similar relations.
