Introduction to the Quality and Data, Oversight and Review (QDOR) Program

Over the course of the past sixteen years, the Erosion Control Technology Council (ECTC) has operated as a non-profit industry group dedicated to the standardization of the Rolled Erosion Control Product (RECP) industry. As ECTC standards and specifications have evolved to use on a national level through ASTM International and the Federal Highway Association (FHWA), RECPs have become a tried, tested, proven and regulated technology. As regulation processes developed, it has become apparent that education and standardization of characteristic information was necessary industry wide. ECTC has met this challenge by evolving internal process to become the Quality and Data Oversight and Review (QDOR) program. The primary purpose and benefit of QDOR is to develop a singular source of qualified data that ensures all listed products have been diligently researched and monitored for consistent quality over time. QDOR incorporates state of the practice standards, peer review of all data and a transparent process. End users and specifiers will be provided access to a listing of qualified materials and data, allowing for specification based on performance and with a pool of qualified data to reference. Regulators and inspectors will benefit as QDOR approved materials will be clearly marked, allowing for easy identification of high quality, high performance materials on the job site.The technical presentation shall consist of a presentation of the specific logistics, benefits and execution of QDOR. ECTC members will provide a succinct and detailed presentation, followed by discussion as warranted. The objective of the presentation will be dissemination of the QDOR program to interested stakeholders, providing information and gathering feedback.
