Investigation of carbonaceous adsorbents/methanol pairs for adsorption cooling system application

Carbonaceous adsorbents - alcohols pairs are attractive for work in heat storage systems (refrigerators or heat pumps). Methanol is a favoured adsorbate for freezing purposes. The results of methanol vapours adsorption on active carbon monoliths and active carbon fibres are given. The method of analysis of equilibrium data and calculation of adsorption heat is presented.
