摘要

Porous carbon materials were obtained from poly(ethylene terephtalate). The preparation procedure involved heating of the carbon precursor mixed with light basic magnesium carbonate in argon atmosphere, followed by washing out inorganic residue. During the heating, the polymer underwent carbonization and the magnesium salt decomposed to MgO and gaseous products including CO_2 and H_2O. A role of the gases in the process is discussed and a mechanism of pore formation is proposed. Adsorption of model compounds of various molecular size like phenol or humic acids is discussed in connection with textural parameters of obtained carbons.
