THE ACTIVITY OF THE ENGINEERING TEAM FOR INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION -JAPANESE EXPERIMENT MODULE (KIBO) OPERATION

"Kibo", Japanese Experiment Module (JEM) was launched separately in March 2008, in June 2008, and in July 2009, and is now an integral part of International Space Station. In order to provide the effective engineering support to in-space "Kibo" operations including its assembly and its activation, JEM Engineering Team (JET) was organized and has made remarkable contributions to the successful operation of "Kibo". JET consists of the "Kibo" development engineers, and they have significant advantage to make effective investigation and right decision in case of the questionable events, anomalies, and troubles on board. In this paper, JET's activity and its contribution to "Kibo" operation during the first one year of "Kibo" operation are described.
